Bituminous waterproofing
ELASTOFALT EP/DR
Cold waterproofing coating: flame-proof, non-toxic, featuring a bituminous base and a very high percentage of elastomers. Made of high quality, permanently elastic natural materials, provides a long-lasting continuous coating. Can be applied on a large number of construction materials (sheaths, asphalt coatings, cement, tiles, etc.), especially:
• New roofing (tile lintol floor, insulating materials, concrete, iron)
• Old and damaged roofing (deteriorated sheaths, old asphalt coatings, fibre cement, metal sheets), without the need to remove the old roofing
• Terraces and balconies in general
• On the exterior of foundations, cellars and structures in contact with dampness
• An adhesive for tiles and insulating materials on porous surfaces
PROPERTIES
• High elasticity even at low temperatures.
• Forms a continuous coating that avoids sheaths or joints in the most delicate areas and areas subjected to structural stress.
• High thixotropy which allows application on most construction materials.
• Easy-to-apply. Cold application is labour-saving and avoids the use of special tools.
• Excellent resistance to UV light and weather conditions, maintaining its original elasticity.
• Long-lasting and its elastic, impermeable and surface adherence properties remain unchanged.

APPLICATION
Surfaces must be structurally sound without any dirt, rust, dust, oil, wax, grease, etc.. Restore any cracks or holes using ELASTOFALT EP and RETE ELASTOFALT. Cut a cross in any folds or bubbles which have formed in sheaths and lift the edges. Apply a thin layer of ELASTOFALT EP and press to adhere. In the case of old damp surfaces where the product may adhere with difficulty, before applying ELASTOFALT EP, apply a coat of ELASTOFALT DR as a primer to enhance grip.
Apply the coat of ELASTOFALT EP using a brush or roller with a rubber scraper. Always apply at least 1-1/2 kg/m2 in the same direction and avoid any accumulation of material.
Where necessary (cracks, fissures, water ducts, etc.) apply sheets of RETE ELASTOFALT on the fresh layer of ELASTOFALT EP. Allow the first coat to dry for at least 12 hours.
If necessary, apply the second layer of ELASTOFALT EP (using a brush or roller), perpendicularly to the former coat. The coat must be at least 2 mm thick.
If the first layer of ELASTOFALT EP is still sticky, dampen slightly with water or dust very lightly with industrial talcum powder to ease the transit of the personnel applying the product.
Leave the second layer to dry for as long as possible before transiting across the surface (total product reaction time: 1-2 weeks depending on the external humidity).
If you wish to lay slate scabbling, quartz dust, grit, etc. to protect the coating and to improve resistance to footfall, carry out these treatments immediately after applying the 2nd coat of product, while it is still fresh, applying approx. 2 kg/m2. Apply in temperatures above +5°C.
